Introduction
China has attracted worldwide attention due to its reform, its opening policy, the favorable investment environment and the demanding market. In the past ten years China has become the most important country for international investment. Government’s support to give priority to the research and development of the automotive industry has promoted many joint venture manufactures all over the China. The automotive industry and market flourish so rapidly with a high annual growth rate in the past few years.
Today’s automotive technology is a combination of intelligence, electronics, computer, and information technologies. More and more automotive electronic products such as semiconductor ICs, sensors, transducers, actuators, display devices, illuminators, micro processor units (MPU), communication products, automatic control system, safety and invasion monitor and alarm systems have been adopted in the design of today’s automobiles. A lot of advanced automotive electronics are currently imported from outside of China. China’s entry to WTO will greatly promote the opening of market to a broader extent and all kinds of international cooperation and trade will be enhanced. Now China will become one of the most important automotive electronic product market which will greatly influence the market pattern of Asia and even the whole world.
Under the supports from government and related associations and societies, “2003 Forum on Development of Automotive Electronic Technology Applications” will invite leaders of competent authorities, experts and leaders of enterprises at home and abroad to attend the meeting. Attendees will come from automotive and electronic industries, research institutes, universities, government and related organizations. The objective of the Forum is to introduce the current status of China automotive electronic products and the demands of the market, thus to know what products and technologies may be purchased or imported, how to cooperate with foreign companies.
